BEST LOOKS OF: KATE MIDDLETON 2023
Kate Middleton’s fashion sense is the perfect concoction of elegance, sophistication, and relatability. It’s no wonder she’s such a style inspiration for people worldwide. Let’s look at Kate’s best looks of 2023 (so far).
In search of some style inspiration for your next shopping trip? Who better to emulate than a real-life princess, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, herself?
Whether she’s attending to her royal duties, traveling for charities, or hitting the red carpet, Kate always manages to look effortlessly chic and stylish. Her love of A-line dresses, tailed coats, and chic blazers have become synonymous with the Duchess’ taste in fashion.
Kate’s ability to mix high-end labels (like Alexander McQueen, Jenny Packham, and Emilia Wickstead) with affordable pieces (such as Zara and Topshop) has made her a style icon around the world.
Her sophisticated yet graceful sense of style is unmistakable even in her most casual, carefree looks – a pair of jeans with sneakers – while running errands with her children. (Royals, they’re just like us!)
Kate's role as a mother has also inspired her fashion choices, incorporating whimsy and playfulness into her classic style sense. From bold prints (polka dots and florals) to bright colors, the Duchess has embraced these more creative style choices with open arms.
Let’s reflect on some of Kate’s best looks of 2023 (so far):
APRIL 21, 2023

The Princess of Wales joined Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis for Easter mass at Windsor Castle this year. MARCH 13, 2023
Kate and husband, Prince William, joined the royal family for the annual Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey. Kate wore a pre-fall Erdem look which won’t be available to buy until at least August 2023. The Princess has worn Erdem for royal tours and gala dinners in the past.
Erdem Moralıoğlu’s collections are always steeped in history and tradition (and often royal traditions), which has made them an obvious choice for Kate throughout her time as a royal. As is often the case with Erdem’s designs, the look has an elegant feel to it—with his pre-fall collection being inspired by the wallpapers and upholsteries of Victorian houses.
On this day, Kate wore a navy blue jacquard-print skirt suit, featuring a striking silhouette thanks to the darted waist of the jacket leading to a pleated peplum and flared skirt. Kate complimented the look with a wide-brim navy blue hat with a bow on the side, Gianvito Rossi navy blue suede court shoes, and a pair of matching navy blue gloves. For jewelry, she wore Princess Diana’s a pair of sapphire and diamond drop earrings that matched her engagement ring perfectly, as well as a Prince of Wales feathers brooch.

For a Wales vs England rugby match, Kate rewore a red and white houndstooth Catherine Walker coat, that she previously wore in 2018 during a visit to Stockholm. The coat’s vibrant red-and-white color scheme was a subtle nod to the national colors of both the England and Wales teams. Kate paired the coat with a black turtleneck, Aquatalia ankle boots, 'white Mulberry bag, and diamond-drop earrings by ‘Mappin and Webb’.
FEBRUARY 19, 2023
The Princess of Wales looked ethereal in a one-shoulder white Alexander McQueen gown while attending the BAFTA Awards. For the 2023 ceremony—held at the Royal Festival Hall—Kate continued her recent trend of up-cycling pieces from her considerable personal archive, stepping out at the South bank Center in the same one-shouldered Alexander McQueen gown she wore to the 2019 event, albeit with cascading draping added at the shoulder.
She complemented the dress with gold Aquazzura pumps, black Cornelia James opera gloves, black Jimmy Choo clutch, and cascading floral earrings from Zara. And in true Kate fashion, the royal looked to high-street favorite Zara for her earrings. The cascading gold design is studded with rhinestones, and retails for just $27.90.
